Ever since I started Lego again I have been collecting sets that I can build, blog about and perhaps use in my photography and stop motion animation. The thing is, most of the sets are not built in an hour. And the photography and stop motion also takes a lot of time to do. Time unfortunately has been lacking the past months. I still need to fix the attic so I can actually build a set for stop motion.
So in the mean time my wife gotĀ me a small set to build and blog about. She got me the Star Wars Rebel Trooper Battle Pack.

For me this set is perfect. As small as the set it is, it has not one, not two but four minifigs. I think of that as a great addition to the cast for various stop motion films. If I ever get my attic the way I want to.
Unboxing
As expected the box contained bags of Lego bricks and an instruction booklet. The bags are not numbered, but with a set this size, who cares. Apparently my son, cause he mentioned it as soon as I got the bags out of the box.

The Build
Once I had everything set up to take some pictures my son noticed I was about to build a Lego set. All of a sudden I had his complete attention. Or rather, the set had his complete attention and he kept asking me if he could build it. At first, I wanted to build it for myself. It has actually been a while since I built anything myself. But after the first few dozen times he asked me, I caved.
And he started.

First up, the minifigs.

Rebel troopers, all armed with actually shooting guns. Guess what I will be hiding as soon as it is completed….. yup, the ammo.
In less than an hour he turned the bricks into a speeder

And a mounted gun.

When the building is done there are some extra bricks left, as always.

I always wonder if the extra bricks are random, or on purpose. Five of the red studs are actually accounted for in the instructions. The rest is extra. If it is on purpose, they seem to think the gun parts will be lost most often. Which is part of the reason why I hide the ammo.
The Price
To be honest, I have no idea what my wife paid for it. But is available in the Lego shop forĀ $14.99.
